I demand a recount of days! Where did all of last year go? It seems to have slipped past me so fast. I sure hope I get more done in the yarden this year than I did last year.
We finally gave up on trying to find a seal for the old freezer yesterday afternoon. I called Sears Warehouse again and they had 2 upright 20.6 cu. ft. ones. I'll call again in the morning and confirm that the Kenmore we decided we want is still there(praying for that)and tell them that we are on the way up to get it. They will hold one a few hours if you do that. Holly says she will go get it for us in her pick-up. We'll drive behind her with the money, etc. We're hoping we can return the seals I picked up Monday that would not work for us. Good size chunk of money wrapped up in them.
It is suppose to be in the upper 50s today and tomorrow and only down to the mid to upper 40s at night. I will need to spend today in the yard getting last minute planting done and a lot of picking up of trash that has accumulated lately. After that it is suppose to be feeling much more like winter. I have a feeling we will be having a late spring this year. Instead of starting seeds in mid March I think I'll be waiting til late March or even up into April.
I did some work in the plant room last night and have much much more to get done. After that it will be mostly a matter of maintaining the plants until spring. I have unpotted most of the Elephant Ears and Caladiums as they had such a time with Mealy Bugs last year. I only have a couple pots of very small Canna still going and will pull them if I start seeing Mealy Bugs on them. Some of the Lady Bugs I put in the plant room are still doing well. They were on the Brugs last night. I noticed they had cleaned up some Mealy Bugs on them.
NJ, how is your father now that the holidays are over? It sounded as tho he is improving almost daily. I'm sure the walks he takes each day will be a great help. Fresh air and sunshine are wonderful for beating down depression. Just a thought here, go to the Health, Beauty, & Dieting forum and read the thread on Partially Hydrogenated Fats. Very informative.
GOD bless and keep all of you.
