One of the sports of my "wild hair" Snowbank.
This one came from the stem on the way to where the crown sported green [Greenbank].
Flowers similar to Snowbank, Maya, and Sunset.
But leaves not Snowbank. Nor quit the same as the other variegates.
Though similarities, will be interesting to see how #2 matures. lol
Snowbank Sport #2
Nice flowers. I think I would like this better than Snowbank since I have so much trouble with the leaves burning. Alice, do you have any abutilon blooming in your greenhouse now? I think I'm going to try a couple of them again next year. Haven't had one for a couple of years. I tried to hold it over, but the bugs liked it so well, I tossed it.
Looks like a "keeper". Nice one!
Interesting how Snowbank sports so readily!!
I have trees of abutilon here Brugie. Old old trees!
Would never be able to get one to be a tree for me because of our winter, but I did like the way the bloomed for me and the foliage is nice until the bugs hit.
Very neat! I will be waiting to see #2 also. :o)
I plant my Abutilon(flowering maple) in the ground in summer, theyget sun until noon. Bloom like crazy, love them.
Wish I could figure out what my Snowbank needs to grow better, it is slower than Moses in growing, has never bloomed!
My snowbank hasn't bloomed either...not a y in sight....
I got my plant quite a while before you did Gloria and mine didn't bloom until right after the first frost this year. I'm sure you will have bloom next summer and more than once.
I sure hope you are right! Peaches & Cream grows fster than Snowbank.
My snowbank hasn't bloomed either!!!
Slower than slow on growing as well, and I'm giving it plenty
of fertilizer too!
Abuliton, was there any fragrance on your sport?
I don't see this sport as a 'keeper'. Just one to have some fun with. ha
Yes, Brugie ..abutilons are blooming in the greenhouse.
Along with some brugs and even a few cannas. ha
Snowbanks that have not bloomed yet should do so spring if mature enough.
Mine bloomed first time in spring.
They pretty much 'sit' over winter.
Well if it perfoms as goog as it looks there,I'd be glad to have her as a keeper!Specially if it has a good fragrance!LOL!
You like Abutilons to Shirley, I love those. I keep going to logee's peeking at them. Is there a better place for them?
I don't know T. I just know that the only ones around here are the common types and I want a red and white one. I'm sure Logee's will get into my purse before long.
That is the one calling my name too, I also like the red and peach. Glasshouseworks has a big bloomed one they describe as the color crushed raspberry, I keep telling myself not to go back and look......but
Yes, fragrant.
I would keep it just to see, what it will looks like when full grown.
See, I thought it was a "keeper".
Thanks, Monika. That is what I am doing. Just to see how it does.
I will probably keep anyhow, just because how it arrived. ha
Each the sports I was able to root has a different variegation.
I will post for input as they bloom.
I will have to check out that abutilon. lol
Though I have a large rich raspberry of my own.
Pruned heavily in fall. But should be able to do cuttings spring.
Warmer climate, abutilons can be grown inground.
Cold climate they do beautifully outside in pots or inground.
I am experiementing my zone 6 to leave winter inground under good mulch.
I had one back last spring.
So believe as perfected, they will overwinter here.
Die to the ground and back from roots in spring.

It's very pretty Alice
Alice, you have way more energy than I have. I'm doing good to move around the forums. LOL!!
Maybe I should try Abutilon left in the ground, we don't have winters like we used to......those -21.
Get out your long John's Gloria. I think in a few days we are going to be cold. Anymore, anything under 40 is cold to me, but when we get those single digit temps, I'm going to freeze my rear off.
