Tman---how do you winter that big ol yellow brug? Did it grow that much in a season or does it a have vacation in Florida over the winter? nice shot by the way. cheryl

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Hi Brugie,
I believe that in the picture is Dr Suess, cheryl,I winter it over in a sunroom facing south,so it gets lots of sunshine,I have to prune all my plants back at least a third or halfway to have room for them all.My sunroom is 10x20,my greenhouse is 10x12 and I have a gardenroom added on the west side of my home that 1s 20x20,and still have some in a heated garage, still need more room, but no well else to build but up,on top of the house, but I'm getting to old to carry plants up a set of stairs!LOL!
Hey rootdoctor one winter here in Kansas, they'll be glad to go back home, and the summers,I think the heat from the sun is a lot more intense here than anywhere in the tropics!!
Ears now you say,I,me have ta ears for sure!LOOK!

Awe, Doc, you say the sweetest things! Hey, Doc, I have a Plumeria for you if you want it! You have to email me your address again so I can send it to you when the weather warms up. Doc, I showed Don that cool picture of you with the huge banana over your shoulder! It looks like you two have a lot in common: hard labor!

Don, your Brug is awesome. I almost forgot that your other nicknames are Tallyman and Bananaman!

DonnaB, did you see Don's pretty birds over at the pet forum? I told him about your albums which contain awesome bird and Brug pictures. Here's the link: http://davesgarden.com/t/412390/

For those of you that know Mary (Greenwitch) from GardenWeb, I told her about Dave's yesterday, and I think she will be here shortly. She's good people too!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Hey Rootdoctor you never know, hospitals give out wrong babies more than you'll ever know!!LOL!
If only dixie cup knew we were using there cups for pots they'd raise there prices,I also use the yellow ones smeared
with tangleroot,to catch flying insects in the greenhoses.
This year I took pvc pipe strung yellow plastic material around it 4 ft long the width of each window smeared with tangleroot, works like a charm.I usally don't travel far from home, actually haven't been KC since 1977!My work truck I bought new Jan 1st 1993,which will be 11 yrs old thursday, just turned 40,000 miles.Wifes mini van bought new in 1998,just turned 25,000 miles,my good truck a 1997,has 34,ooo miles on it,so you see,I don't leave home much,my sis lives on the west side of town,I tell her I feel like I've drove to Colorado to see her, which is only 12 miles!LOL!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

That 93 is just getting broke in.I don't get out of town much either,my 94 just rolled 80K,the Iowa trip is my next planned outting.
We will have the KC. one at a park, with lots of close motels, eateries and Highways.
The first one was last Fall,at XVmercys' place.
It is pretty cool to meet with other DGers, everyone here is so nice.
And well Iowa, the folks up there are the greatest.
This link should take you to last Falls gathering at XVs.

Gee whiz, you guys! I put about 25,000 miles on my car a year, but I do commute south to Los Angeles and north to Santa Barbara a lot.

Don, you have to go to the next round up! It looks like so much fun. Those pictures are great of everyone. Doc, you look kind of scary with that knife and a gleem in your eyes! Just kidding! You look like a sweetie. It seems to me that Don has a scary picture with a machete that he took this summer; don't you, Don? Maybe you guys were separated at birth!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Welcome Tropicman. You will enjoy all the great people here on DG. I have a small greenhouse attached to garage, 10' x 14' (I think) that is full of brugs, of course some other things. Have an insulated room attached to garage next to GH that i store my bonsai and also some brugs. Have a room at west end of house, (my plant room). It has misc., orchids, amaryllis, etc. Donna aka rutholive

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

That's the one. LOL! Great picture!

Donna, that's great that you have so many rooms dedicated to your plants! That must have taken a lot of work to put them there.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Corn knife!!Thats sounds wicked!!!
You have the nak of shucking corn down pat!
My youngers day when I picked a lot, lots of corn, grab an ear twist and pull down at the same time, break both ends of with you hands, pull the husk down, wow does that bring back memories from the truck farming days!!!
Thanks Brugie
