Us and scanners don't get along. We had a scanner, used it once, then it wouldn't work. Gave it away and bought a new one, HP3500C. It's hooked up to an HP6630, Windows98. We installed it, used it a couple times then didn't go back to it for a while. Went to use it, a message comes up saying computer cannot detect device. We check all connections, switch to the other usb port. Computer says it detects new hardware, then the computer says it can't detect scanner. I uninstalled the scanner, then reinstalled it. It worked when we used it the next 3 or 4 times, now we're back at the same message, computer can't detect device. (BTW, the scanner we gave to the neighbor works fine on her computer)
