Hello again farmers. The weatherman missed it again. Officially our forecast says cloudy with a little snow. We woke up to about 4 inches of new snow, and it has snowed all day so now we have about 7 or 8. Tonight and tomorrow we could get more because the forecast reads the same. It is good to finally get some snow, in this dry country every drop of precip in any form is welcome. The ground is not frozen very hard so a lot of this will soak in.
This morning the cattle were all standing bunched together for warmth while they waited for the feed truck. One was laying down and had a lot of snow on it, and it must have moved because my silly horses pranced around and snorted with their tails in the air while looking at it for about 2 minutes until they figured out it was just a cow. Silly animals. Any excuse for a little game.
For Christmas I got a temperature and humidity monitor for the greenhouse. The sending unit is in the greenhouse and the reciever is in the house so I don't have to go out and read a thermometer and let cold air into the gh going in and out. A very nice, practical gift!
We have neighbors comming to visit this afternoon. I need to put together a plate of cookies for them to take home, just remembered I hadn't done that, oops, almost got caught this time.
