Amaryllis - Crashed stalk

Reno, NV(Zone 6a)

I got an amaryllis for the holidays and it seemed to be doing well, but when I got up this morning the leaves had 'fallen' down to the side. I don't know if that's something that they do when they're not happy, or if my cat took a disliking to it.

Have any of you seen this? They're still green and stiff, but they won't stand up. I've propped them until I can get to the bottom of this.

HELP!!!

I just reread your post and I don't know what it could be now. When mine flop they usually want a little drink. They do tend to require a lot of water in my house (wood heat) so I water them pretty often, but try to not have them soggy. Once the leaves on my big bulb get to a certain size their own weight causes them to flop. I have a stake in the pot and give them some support when they get to that stage.

Ok, cool...I thought it may just be the weight, but wasn't sure, so I've had it staked. That's probably correct. Thanks.

I think it may also have something to do with not getting enough sun. I've had that happen to plants in the house, but the ones outside don't do that until they start thinking about dormancy.
