I discovered that my Whiskers brug had a blossom. It is the first Whiskers bloom for me. WOW, look at those tendrils!
Whiskers blooming in greenhouse !
She is a beaut. Have always loved this one and her fragrance is wonderful. Great pictures Padre. Thanks for brightening my day.
Wow, Padre. Beautiful pic. Glad you got to see a bloom.
It is one pretty yellow one! Love it!
oh Padre, that is beautiful! Donna sent me some cuttings, whiskers was the only one I lost!! All the others are doing great. Hope I can find cutting of them again.
Picture is Nice!
She is really lovely Padre. I love those long..... trendils.
Padre, what a beautiful brug, and such great tendrils. Love it. Donna
You must just love that GH Padre. Your Whiskers looks so happy!
Padre, Whiskers has such a lovely shape and I am so glad that you got to see it bloom for the first time. How are all your cuttings and seeds doing?
Thanks for the feedback and affirming encouragement. I have now noticed that my Citronella brug has six blossoms about to open. I'll start a new string and post pictures when they open wide. Meanwhile I am learning how to deal with aphids, and white flies. Each day has its own lessons. It is often said that wisdom comes with old age, but then sometimes old age comes alone ;-)

What a beautiful Christmas gift Padra. Someone is making sure your day will be wonderful......Merry Christmas.

Lovely, Padre (o:
Whiskers is one of my very favourite brugs.
Merry Christmas, too!
Merry Christmas, Padre! Will you be pollinating your 'Whiskers' and 'Citronella'?
Not my intention but something to think about. I have no pollen now. I have too much to learn before I get into pollinating. A step at a time. I have to learn my scales before I can play a concerto.
Padre, I have a few good pollens if you want to try your hand with Whiskers.
LMK
Padre, sounds like you will have some good help with those scales...practice makes perfect...brugs! John
Thanks Abutilon, but the whiskers bloom is about finished now and by the time anything you might send arrives there will be no whiskers flower to polinate.
Hmmm, 'Citronella' is an aurea multihybrid, crossing with a versicolor (pollen) might give you an interesting double...
The Citronella is now in bloom. http://davesgarden.com/t/412280/

Padre, start collecting pollen from your blooms now. You can store it in your freezer and you'll have a supply when things get going in spring. It's nice to have some pollen available when you need it.
