beer - cheese soup

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

3 cups milk or 2 cups milk and 1 cup heavy cream
1 can of regular beer, not lite
16 ozs. prepared cheese (i use valvetta) cubed
1 and a half tsp chicken granuals
3 dashes hot pepper (optional)
1/4 cup plus 2 tbls flour
water

add milk and beer to a pot over low heat until heated through
add cheese, chicken granuals and hot sauce and stir until cheese is melted
increase heat to medium and add enough water to the flour until you get a pourable thin batter
add batter to pot and stir constantly until soup thickens
and flour is completly absorbed
makes about 6 cups
