my first brugs

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

I just got these about a month ago. I am soo tickled and cant wait to be able to put them outside. They are frosty pink and Charles Grimaldi. I hope I do right by them, except for one they seem to be doing great.

Janet, don't give up on the one without leaves just yet. Sometimes, they will drop all their leaves - - but will put out new growth. Just don't water until they are really dry. And the one without leaves, I would just water small amounts at one time.

Thanks Nathalyn, thats what Ive been trying to do. The dishes I have them set in have I guess you could call them pockets so if I over water a little too much then its caught instead of getting stuck at the bottom of the pot. The one with no leaves is kinda shrivled but still keeping my fingers crossed. And just to make sure.... I shouldnt fertilize till spring when growth starts to really get going, right?

Lookin' good! Nice red "Christmas" pots, should keep them cozy and warm. Good luck on growing, just don't over water, until we have more daylight hours and they start growing faster.

Thanks Janet, I'll be looking for it.

If it shrivels down to a leaf bud/node and stops that is normal. But if it dies, I'll send you a new one in the spring - - too cold right now to be mailing brugs. I should have extra brug cuttings in the spring as I always take plenty of cuttings.

And yes, the red and green do look Christmasy.
