Looks like you will be kept bsuy for awhile! I almost wish my brugs would fit in a box again! ENJOY!

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

i got a present in the mail today too! although...i searched and i searched for directions on how and what to do with cuttings...and it was surprisingly lacking for a complete novice like me! the bottoms of the cuttings looked like they were about to sprout roots, and i dipped them both in rooting hormone and then planted them in half potting soil/ peat moss. and then was gonna stick them in a warm corner of my room-- is this all ok? please correct my process-- i really dont want to kill them!

Well.............. I use a fast draining soil in the winter. Rot is the easist way to lose a cutting and and a very easy way in winter. I also use a small pot. 4 inch is the biggest. I only wet the soil when the dirt is very dry. Make sure in no direct sunlight until rooted.

Good luck! They look great.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

I agree with Kell

..........I'd like to add that the soil mixture you are using I believe will stay too wet. I like to use 2 parts organic potting mix, 1 part perlite and 1 part builders sand.
........This is what I use and it drains very well.

IMHO :o)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Boy, some generous person out there sure likes you. lol Those cuttings look as if they were either just cut a few minutes ago or already rooted. I've never had any arrive with leaves that fresh. Whoever packed them must really have the answer to how to do it.

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

I agree, the cuttings look like they have been freshly cut...maybe it is the cold weather..?..they were intransit for 3 days. BTW - I think the person who I got these from is not a member here and this is why no names are mentioned....

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Well Sweetie Pie,
........ You know it's a rule here among the Brugnutz, that you 'must' post a list of everything you get.......so we all can get in order here for our Begging & Groveling season next fall :-O
&;-P

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL....you are soooo right...give me a few and I will have a list of what the names are...

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

LOL SB you are too funny!

Hey Kell? Ya said "I almost wish my brugs would fit in a box again!" Want me to send you some, they will be yours, and they will fit into a box! :o)

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

Ok...here goes:

Butterfly
Ollie
Charles G.
Jean Pasco
Versicolor Peach
Maderia
Tropical Sunset
Candida Double White
Rosa Traum
Jamaica Yellow
Frosty Pink
Herrenhauser Garten
Arborea

Everyone keep your fingers crossed that these make it for me...then I will have plenty to share next year! I have (so far) had good luck with all cuttings that I have rooted, I have only lost 1 out of 20 or so that I started - the 1 that I think died maybe is still alive and will come back next summer...? - I cannot tell because it is in a pot with soil....it just simply dried up.

*** Edited to clarify that the little cutting dried up - NOT the soil....ROTFL....

Thanks Shelly but one thing I do not need are any more brugs!! Unless of course it is a triple purple!

Beverly Hills, CA(Zone 10a)

I can't imagine the day when I won't "need" more brugs! My first summer of brug addiction & I have to confess I think that I'll be a brug beggar for life!

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL.....

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Tell me that next year! Esp. when you start to grow your own seeds. Gee, they multiply way too much!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Since Katy isn't that far fr Brazoria, I'm in line behind Willow!!! hehehe
I can save you the trouble of packing, Moonlighting. This Honda of mine gets 30-35 miles a gallon & that is almost cheaper than postage!
I'll swap you what DonnaB gave me that you don't have for what you got that I don't have.
:~)

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL...you guys are something else! - FOTFL....Of course I will share when I have some cuttings, but I first need to get info on when/how/where to do the cuttings after they grow up....

I have been reading up on Brugs and I have learn't quite a bit so far - but by no means close to being comfy in doing it tho....I know I am in the right place here at DG and I am sure when that time comes someone will SPOONFEED the info to me on just how to do it....lol...
