Oh Kell! Gosh I was hoping you were awake!!!!!
I dont know what brug it is, I think its one from Brugie tho. She did so well labeling them, then when I put them in water... well.. I lost a couple labels. Oh wow am I ever excited! I sure hope they hang on! Ive never smelled a brug. Ok.. so now how long do I have to wait til I smell it? lol

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Shelly. It could be awhile! Is it in a GH? Try not to change the amount of light it is getting. Mine drop when I move them.

I know that feeling when you see those first little buds. It is so exciting!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

No not in a GH.. just in our room, south facing window. Ok.. Im not moving it. Thanks Kell! :o)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well it must be very happy where it is! Some of mine went so fast but others seemed to drag on forever. The worst is when they have emaerged from the calyx and they just sit there and do not move. One seedling made me crazy at the end of the summer. It took forever to open.

I never counted how long actually. Lets count yours! Post a pic of the bud every so often so we can watch it. Then you can pollinate the flower and we will watch the pod grow!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

lol OK! Sounds like a plan! Thanks Kell!

It is a bud Shelley. Congratulation, all you can do now is to hope, that it stays on.

It's abud alright. Congrats! I found a bud a week or so ago on an orange/red sanguinea thta a friend had given to me. I told him I didn't want it but he dropped it off at my house one day while I was at work and then he hightailed it back to Chicago before I got home. He's an older gentlemen around 70 that ws going back home to have hip and knee replacement surgeries.
He also had a hand in getting me started growing different things. The sang is about 2-2 1/2 ft tall and if I could only see one of those buds bloom, I wouldn't care if the whole plant died after that. They don't grow well here but thus far I don't seem to have had any problems with this one.
Of course our summer was very nice this year and not extremely hot and humid as it normally is.

Congratulations on your bud Shelley!

Congratulations Shelley! Let's keep our fingers crossed they stay on.

I know your excitement, but like Deb says, let's keep our fingers crossed they stay on. At least you should have blooms sooner in the summer.

Thank you all! Gosh! I couldnt believe it. Poor little thing was leaning so bad, I picked it up, and gave it the once over, and there they were. Its the smallest brug I have thats rooted, maybe 9 inches. Im scared to move it into a bigger pot tho. Do yall think it would harm it if I did move it to a bigger pot?

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

......Only if I needs to be potted up. If it drys out and needs daily water or wilts quickly I would do it. Being root-bound will cause these conditions.
....... It probably will take weeks for your bud to mature, so you my Dear have chioces to make
Repot to keep it healthy if needed, which will 'possibly' cause the bud (s) to drop.
Good Luck,
..... I'm facing the same dilemma right now also.

Thanks SB! Ok... for right now its ok... like I said its real small, but man! I can just see me getting a good sized bud, and having to repot. I think I would cut out the bottom of the pot its in now, and just put it in a bigger one with more soil on the bottom.

So where in the world do I find landscapers to get free 5-7 gallon pots from at this time of year?!? :o)

I am so glad yall are here to hold my hand thru this. It just really caught me by suprise! I wasnt expecting anything until later.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Shelley, right now, I would not pot it at all but leave it alone. There is not enough light available at the moment to stimulate root and sprout growth.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Shelly, Rootdoctor and others find used pots at nurseries and landscapers, free for the taking. We don't have the luxury of having places here to get pots, but I got a bunch of black pots through a nursery, new, for less than $5 each. I think they are 15 gallon size. They will probably last 3 or 4 years. Hopefully more.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Thanks girls! Im leaving it alone. My dad works out in the field, so I begged him yesterday to look for landscapers. LOL
Here is the one that has the buds, next to paper, cause I couldnt find a ruler. LOL

Shelly221, good luck with your buds. I do hope you get some blooms. I will go out to see if I can get a picture of myCG . It was from a cutting off my plant last fall. i hadn't even looked at it as it was on an upper shelf behind taller brugs. When i watered it I noticed 3 buds and it isn't even 12" tall. One dropped off but the other two look good.

I'm sorry, I've had such a problem with my ISP and not getting DG very often, that I've forgotten who sent the photo of the brug buds to encourage me about my buds on Pink B. Thanks for the encouragement, and you were right. This morning I can see three that should open tomorrow, but I expect because of lack of light they will be very pale. It is difficult for me to take pictures in my GH because of the yellow light from the HID lamp. Guess I could turn it off. Donna
