Gingerbread Loaf

Southwestern, OH(Zone 6b)

In looking for Gingerbread recipes, I came aross this one for a Gingerbread Loaf, it's fantastic, and smells great baking too!!

Gingerbread Loaf

4 C. All Purpose Flour
2 C. Sugar
4 t. Baking Powder
2 t. Cinnamon
1 t. ground cloves
1 t. ground Nutmeg
1 t. Baking Soda
1 t. Ground Ginger
2 Eggs
2 C. Milk
1 C. Maple Syrup
2 T. Vegetable Oil

In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. In another bowl, combine the eggs, milk, syrup and oil. Stir into the dry ingredients just until moistened (batter will be thin)
Pour into 2 greased 9x5 inch loaf pans. Bake at 325 for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.
