Last night was our first big monsoon type rain/wind storm. The brugs did fine, stood up to it all with no problem.
The Giant Timber Bamboo lost the tops to two of its new shoots. If they don't have time to harden off before the rains arrive, they are too weak to withstand the high winds. It topped these two off at about the 14' level, so they should just bush out from there and be OK.
Here's a less than perfect image of "Raindrops & Brugs", along with the 4' pieces of the bamboo.
It's another dark and stormy night.....
What a picture! It still looks beautiful out there with the rain! I really felt like I was looking through your window.
Thank you for sharing. You can root those bamboo pieces, right? OH, wait, 4 feet? Holy cow! I was thinking 4 inches! LOL
Morning Jenks -
Woke up to moonlight and clear skies. I tried last year to root one of the broken bamboo tops, but it just is too cold for it and it rots before it warms up enough in the spring to get going. :( I may try one in the GH since I'm keeping it at about 55F this year.
Great picture. I'm glad you didn't have more damage.
