I went to the GH this morning to help Greenwood repair the damage the wind did & saw what looked like ladybugs. There was about 15 of them. How can I tell if they are LadyBugs or something bad. We do have several eaten leaves. These are redish & have quite a few black dots on them. I know there are other bad bugs that look a lot like LadyBugs.
Thanks for any help.

bugs in greenhouse
Ladybugs do like to congregate in sheltered places to overwinter. They get into my trailer, and shed and shop every fall. I found a big pile of them under some of last years firewood, too. We call it invasion of the ladybugs.
I think the bad ones are not red, but yellow with spots. Anyone out there know for sure?
go here http://www.ladiesinred.com/ and click on FAQ's. it gives great info on ladybugs and their cousins.
In a search I found 3 bugs they could be.. 1 ladybug 2 mexican bean beetle & the squash beetle. I hate to kill ladybugs but if it is one other I need to..
