Hi All,
I noticed that stores are marking down their prices on seeds. Would they still be useable next year? And are there some I should just stay away from? Thanks.

As long as they are kept dry and cool there is no reason why they shouldn't be ok for some years to come. Older seed gets harder to germinate as the years pass but I was given some 20+ year old seeds of various plants and still had a good germination rate from them.
Thanks Baa,
Them was some old seeds! Somebody thought alot about them to take that good of care.
LOL Laylarose if only that were true! She had forgotten about them, she had gardening asperations and would look at them every year, then put them back in the draw and promptly forget about them. She never threw anything away either it just all sits there gathering dust.
I recently read an article by a garden writer who had planted 40 eyar old carrot seeds, carrots tend to have a short seed life and so though the germination of a couple needed reporting.
Nelumbo - Lotus flower seeds were found by archiologists in a sunken boat in Japan, they were over 3000 years old, a few of those germinated too, so I guess it really is how they are kept.
She sounds like me ROFLOL
