Rosamond in the heat...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This was a summer 2002 picture. This brug bloomed and bloomed, but didn't hold up well in the heat and especially the winds and we had a lot of wind that summer. However, I wouldn't let that stop me from growing it. This one is a beauty and looks different in each person's yard. Seems to change with environment more than most brugs. This is the same brug that Kell's pictures of Rosamond come from. Totally different looking from CA to IA. I sure missed not having it this year. She will be growing here again next year.

Just beautiful Burgie......makes me wish for mind to grow, grow, grow........I think the heat here may give me some problems but that won't discourage me from growing all I can. I would give my eye teeth for that one......if I still had'um that is........LOL

Dee, I'm going to put this one in a pot this year and be ready to put it into partial shade when it gets hot. Maybe that will help it hold the bloom shape better. Can only try.

Yours held the shape better than mine did Peggy. She is so pretty.

Hope you have good luck rooting the cuttings Gloria. I've had trouble rooting this one in the cooler months. Summer...no problem.

I just love this brug sooooooooooooo muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
It was my favorite last year. It blooms profusely and gets huge. I have a tree of this in my backyard that is at least 16 feet tall! It towers over the lathe over my porch. It was not photogenic though.

That is so beautiful. Where will you find one to grow next year, Shirley? Do you have a cutting of it now? I think you just added another Brug to my wish list!

Its a beautiful picture Shirley. I think, many of us were not able to make too many new pictures because of the heat.
Rosamond is a beautiful hybrid.
