Climbing Zucchini, Zucchetta Rampicante, ItalianTrombone Squash (Cucurbita mosch

Jacksonville, IL(Zone 5a)

WOW! That really is a beaut!. I've added it to my list for next year. I like the way it stays slim and that all the seeds are in the bulbous part. Thanks for posting it.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

It's delish, roshana! Some of them will get fatter, it seems the ones growing on the ground do, plus they curl! (More pics in the Plant Data Base.)

Jacksonville, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks, Shoe. I think I've seen them. Can't wait to have that in my garden!

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

Shoe, is that plant safe to grow? Just curious to know if it takes over the garden like the other zucchinis can! I remember my mom mowing down the zuchinni plants as a child (when hacking them back with a machete was ineffective). They were out of control!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

First year growing them, Butterfly!

If you're short of space I'd definitely grow upwards! (Trellis, fence, corn, etc.) I'm thinking of growing them on our deck this coming season, like I did gourds one years. They'd make a great sunscreen (if they grow high enuff!) and we could walk outside the kitchen door, pick our yummies, walk back in and get to cooking!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Thats a great pic HorseShoe! I have never seen anything like that thang! Neat!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks, shelly. They're quite a conversation piece! Another member here at DG sent me the seeds when I saw pics of hers. I just HAD to grow them!

Please help
Looking everywhere for some of these climbing zuc seeds with no luck as yet. Can anyone tell me where to buy them?? I live in Nova Scotia and will mail order to where ever.
Thanks for any info.....twoacres

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

twoacres, Pinetree Seeds offers them. They are in Maine so shouldn't be too much for shipping them to you.

If they are sold out let me know. I have some from these pics but not yet sure of the germination rate.

Halifax, NS(Zone 5a)

Thank you Horsehoe.........and what a wonderful catalogue Pinetree has.
Will 2 acres be enough is the worry now!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

HAH! Well, they ARE vines that really 'decorate' the place! (As a back up I ordered a pack of seeds from Pinetree also.) I'm sure I'll be setting mine out much earlier than I did last year.

Hope you do well with yours. Take pics if you can!
Happy Gardening!
