It is beginning to feel alot like home!

I got a 1000 watt double halogen light from HD for $40. It is great. Puts out heat also! Unfortunately, my DH says it will cost too much to run it for too long, it really dries it up out there.

I have the light stand between 2 bush brugs so it takes up no room!

I now will be able to work out there after work.

I spent the evening picking off all the yellow leaves and blooms. And raking the ground clean. I do not want to get anymore of that fungus.

Thankfully lots of the pods stayed on even though the leaves had a massive falling off!

The leaves are greening up and the little buds are staying on.

Even my EP which looked in dire trouble has perked up and putting out new leaves and buds and kept some pods.

I set up a little 3 shelf work table in the corner. I already potted some cuttings up. I just love it in there now.

Thanks Shelly. I am doing a picture story! LOL

I see that Kell! I LOVE to see everyones gardens/workspaces.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Looks wonderful Kell! A great place to spend the dreary months. You'll have fun with all those pods :)

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Looks great Kell. I can't move in mine. Keeping the fan going for air circulation. Got to get the back door built in it. Hubbie put his ficus in there and I am having to try and water everything behind it by shooting water through it. It is really big and in my way.

Kell,

i am dribbling here...

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It looks very nice kell. Since californian winters do not become as cold as ours, it will be a nice place to be in.
How long are the daylight hours in California right now?
Just about 6 as we have right now?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Looking good. Should have a lot of fun out there, Tom will neve see you.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Kell, thanks for the pictures. I really got the feeling of your hoop-house from them. Just love the GH atmosphere, when I get mine I'm likely to put a cot in the corner ;~P

Wow, Kell. You are really set up now. You shouldn't have to run the light during the day time, just longer in the evening to extend the light hours. Won't cost too much. Sure gave me a good idea though. I can see my plant area getting bigger in the basement now.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Love it Kell, thanks for sharing.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Actually Sue, I find pods to be stressful! I have become obsessed with them. Always in fear that something terrible will befall them. LOL. As if I have room to even grow out 5% of what I have already harvested.

Monika, just 6 hours is pretty gloomy! We have about 9.5 hrs of light. It is dark when I get home. In the summer I was able to work till 8 or 9 outside. It was great. Now light goes from:
Sun Rise Sun Set
Actual Time 7:11 AM PST 4:49 PM PST

Here is my hoophouse guard cat, already on the job, sniffing out trouble!

Looking good Kell.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Kell, I can see that you are so happy with your setup. It will be good for you to be able to go out there after work and check everything out. I am glad that you have a table that you can also pot up cuttings on. I think you will have relaxing time in your hoophouse. So glad that Tom helped to make this better for you. A great guy!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Kell, I bet it is relaxing after a day of work to be able to go into your greenhouse, even if just to look around. Sure wish I had something like that for my brugs.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Kell, your hoop house looks great. I just might have to do something like that myself this next winter.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Looking great kell, just how big is it?

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Kell it looks great now you will be out there all the time......

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It is 12 by 10 and 12 feet high. I only put 1/3 of my brugs in so it is not crowded like lst year.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

So where did you put the other 2/3 Kell?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am leaving them outside Liz. I want to see how they do. So far they look better then the ones in the hoophouse, even the ones that got frosted.

If it gets too cold I will lay them down and cover them. Of course my brugling garden will be a problem. I am not sure what to do there. They really got freezer burn in the first frost. But all are now leafing out again. I would hate to lose them but I can't face digging them up and crowding the hoophouse. If worse comes to worse I will go out and cut the tops off. I am praying for a mild winter.

It looks great, Kell! I really think you need to paint those RK pods as living Christmas ornaments!
I love all of the poinsettias that you have been posting. My mom just got a cool one for her birthday. The bracts look like Monet, and the leaves are variegated. My sister got it for her, and wasn't sure of the name. It was Silver S-----.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

As Tom kicks back in the recliner, drinking a beer and watching football,he thinks, why didn't I buy that light sooner!LOL!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

kell, at the moment, Sunrise here is 8.14, Sunset 16.14.On 21.12,it is the shortest day with Sunrise at 8.25 and Sunset at 16.14hrs.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Ronna, if you can get a picture I would love to see it. Sounds gorgeous.

Root, you have that right. That is Tom's favorite pose!

Monika, I can't wait till the days start getting longer! I also feel more energized when it is light outside and not so gloomy. It is our rainy season here now, and we are getting plenty!
