Maya in 2002

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This was one of my favorite brugs last year. This year it did very little for me. Can't wait to give it another try next year.

Now that is a beauty! I had trouble with mine as it was in a pot. I coudln't keep it wet enough it seemed. The flowers were tiny! I am going to get a bigger pot for it. It did sucker like nuts though!

You can see all the suckers coming from the bottom of mine. This year it didn't sucker much, maybe one or two, but it didn't grow well overall either. I want one like the one in the picture again. I'm going to grow it in a pot this year.

Kell, where do you put all of your poinsettia plants? They are gorgeous. How many do you have now? One more question...do you hold them over from year to year?

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

HA HA where else will you find honest peeps that like 'suckers' ? LOL

Oh most of these pics are from last year. I only kept a couple of trees alive but they are not looking that great! Easier to buy new. I haven't seen any new varieties this year. So sad! I look forward to that so much.

I would get a couple, but my brugs have taken up all my free space. They really are beautiful Kell.

Thanks Brugie! A little Christmas cheer! At least here we are allowed to still celebrate it!

The people who order plants here in SA must be really boring. I haven't seen one poinsettia that wasn't the plain old red or pink. Not even one of the newer varieties that came on the market a few years ago. I've never seen some of the ones in your pictures, Kell. Right now all I have are several big silk pink ones.

I've just got to get one Maya to root for me. I've had no luck with it at all. Maybe next spring, it will do better for me.

I saw a poinsettia today that I loved,it was at wally world, and not very big and they still wanted 9.98 for it.
The whole plant looked variegated......I may go back and get it......

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I have only had 1 variegated CC. If you get it, take a pic for me. Please!

I wonder why none of the nurseries, etc. sell any of these varieties here? Since they are mostly houseplants, the climate wouldn't make any difference.

It didn't look as nice as that one Kell

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Believe it or not, today I saw dark blue colored pointsettias at the store. Of course, artificially colored.
Here they are named Christmas Star.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

That Maya is absolutely gorgeous, Shirley. I hope it does better for you this coming year:-)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Clare. I'm going to try her in a pot next summer and see how she does.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Beautiful Shirley. I have no luck at all with the varigated ones.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Donna: Hope you didn't lose it again? It is such a nice plant, have mine in a BIG pot.
