Belladonna Lily in Cold Climates??

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Has anyone successfully grown the Belladonna Lily (Amaryllis belladonna) in zones 4 to 6? Is it winter hardy? Kell posted some beautiful pictures of hers and now I want to get some but I don't know if they are hardy here in zone 5b.

I am sure that these are the same flowers that I see blooming all over the place here in North Central Illinois. I am in zone 5b.

Lisa, I want to make sure you aren't talking about Lycoris which is very common here too. http://plantsdatabase.com/go/517/

This has a similar growth pattern to the Amaryllis belladonna and the blooms are similar too. I have never seen the Amaryllis belladonna growing around here so I wanted to double check it with you.

Seeing I don't have any in my yard and I now know they are both called naked ladies, I guess that I might be wrong. Hope you find out the correct information.

I see it listed to 5a in PDB and one reported success in Chicago IL http://plantsdatabase.com/go/2377/Belladonna+Lily%2C+Naked+Lady_Amaryllis_belladonna.html
