has anyone tried kiwi seeds? if so what did do? thanks got lots
kiwi have how?
I had heard one time that you could take a thin slice of kiwi fruit and lay it on the surface of the soil and it would dry out and begin to sprout out.
I've never tried it though.
If you have seeds, and you say you have lots of them...you could just try several different ways.
If it were me, I would try to sprout them out by just laying them on top of the soil and keeping them moist.
And then maybe trying to sprout some out in wet paper towels. Again keeping them moist, until the sprout out.
Also I would just try putting them in soil and covering them with very little soil.
(I've always heard that you are suppose to cover a seed 2 times the size of the seed itself with the soil) I would think a kiwi seed dried out would be sorta on the small side so I wouldn't cover it up to much.
You could also just press them into the top of the soil so they don't wash away when you water them.
I'd try all these ways all in the house or green house under grow lights where they will stay warm.
All these ideas are just my opinion. But maybe someone will come along and tell you the exact way to do it.
Good luck!

Best of luck!
I tried them last winter and grew some beautiful plants with really fuzzy leaves this spring and summer. Now I have merely been picking up leaf after leaf as they fell. The plant still looks alive but hideous. Probably one of the greatest seed trials I have done! It was fun just dreaming about little kiwis. I am merely hoping to nurse it through the winter.
thanks thanks for the link. hmm. well i shall try it see.. maybe? thank you for the help.. blessings.. t.
