I love the picture of this plant! Did you plant it from seed and did you grow it in full or partial sun?

Stone Mountain, GA(Zone 7b)

I bought this plant as a seedling at the nursery. I actually tried one in full sun but it died quickly...I liked it so much I bought another one and put in part sun and it did very well.
Take care,

they do fine in full sun here.
they do however require a bit of water tho

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Last summer I planted one in sun til noonish and it did well. Put netting up about 6 ft. high and then snipped off everything that grew longer than than...was very pretty and meant to overwinter it but forgot to bring it in. :(

I just bought a small one of these the other day, I am fascinated by it. I had one last year in a fairly sheltered (by other plants) on a small deck and it did quite well. It never grew as large as this one but it isn't shy about blooming.

Ok let me try to figure this out, that is NOT the 'David Verity' cuphea pictured is it?
I've been wanting the regular cuphea ignea you have pictured there for a long time now (it's lower, compact, bushier and more floriferous than David Verity).
The only version they sell at nurseries around here and on the net is the 'David Verity' version....or at least it seems that way cause of mislabeling.
