Those are impressive flowers! You're lucky to be able to grow them.

Mines got buds,It scared me over the late summer, all the leaves fell off(luckily someone warned me it might do that),but it leafed back out and has buds in the GH!

Wow, bee-yoo-teeful.

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)

What a nice surprise!!

Mine is quite large, but I don't know how big they have to get to flower. It is in an east window and is probably 8 or 10 ft. long. I don't have a south exposure for it. Nothing showing on the vine yet.
Forgot to say that I love this bloom. Great picture JT. How old is your plant?

Shirley, mine is triggered to set buds and bloom after the temperatures drop to around 50 degrees and the days get shorter. I don't know if that's 'normal', but that's what mine does.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

So, mine should have set buds by now, right? I don't see anything that remotely looks like a bud. Oh well, if I don't get bloom this winter, it will have to go. Too much vine for inside the house.

Brugie,Gloria gave me this as a small rooted plant at the Fl spring swap 2 years ago. This is the second time it has bloomed. Both this fall after the temps had dropped some.
I found that mine liked part shade.

Ow, lucky you. Even though they grow very well in our tropical climate, I rarely see it planted around here. I know only 3 places where this vine is growing, and only 2 months ago I got to face one myself. This is a great plant, take care of it :^)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks JT. I might have to wait another year.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Brugie, mine didn't bloom either. I put it in the greenhouse.

Ada, I don't keep my greenhouse heated in the winter. It would cost more to heat than our home. I'll wait and see what happens next year. I do have some thunbergia vines blooming in the garage. I don't know how much longer they can hang on.

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

My solandra was busting out in the most blooms (10-12) it's had since I got it (two years ago too at the same swap as JT)and then we had a frost scare a week or two ago and I put it in the greenhouse. The next day I opened the door to ventilate and something (dog?) knocked the door prop down and I didn't know it. Nearly burned the whole plant up along with some others. There is just a little at the bottom of the plant that is still okay and did have a couple of blooms open. I had to prune most of the plant back cause it cooked it. I was so disgusted with my carelessness about the door. The plant was so long it was hard to get it in the door, now it's just stubs! Oh, it had been in partial shade and had done great.
