I noticed this plant in another picture (the picture was about a Geranium, I think, and these were on the back), and I was about to ask what was that second plant ^.^
Yes, it was at the back of Geranium maderense.
This Echium comes from the Canary Islands and given a sunny spot and poorish, non-waterlogged soil grows readily from seed. It must have a frost free position, otherwise grow under glass. Plants are biennial ( or at any rate monocarpic)

About 2.5 metres I guess.

Those are just wonderful plants! I've never seen anything like them! Thanks for posting the photo. I saw them too in the geranium photo and wondered about them then.
This is the first time I have seen a plant like this. They remind me of natures own Christmas tree in it`s full glory.
Now THAT'S one funky-looking plant! Spectacular!
