There was a small jar of Mayhaw Jelly in the pantry.... must have gotten it in one of those gift baskets last Christmas. Anyway, I didn't have any other jelly to use and so tried this one. It was GOOD!

Now I'm wondering -- WHAT IS A MAYHAW? I've never seen one. Is it a tree, a bush, a shrub? Since I've never seen any Mayhaws for sale in groceries, I would imagine that the fruit would resemble something like a crabapple.

Fortunately, I found some online sources where I can purchase Mayhaw Jelly. But I'm still wondering about the plant itself and its fruit.

Does anyone have any information they can share? Thanks!
