Overwintering EE's ??

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

OK, call me lazy, I really did try to look, but hey, what are freinds for? (I hope)

I got quite a few in pots at the GARU and don't know what to do with them. Yes--they are still in the pots.

While we're at it, what do I do with the nanas again?

Guilford, CT(Zone 7a)

I put my baby ee's under low wattage lamps, & they are doing great. They were too small, & barely had any bulb at all. My large bulbs are in a cool, dry storage area. I am tempted to plant the large ones in pots for the winter, as the babies are doing so well. The leaves reamin small & dark, but healthy.

im growing mine as house plants this yr! But i have one that i forgot from last yr-its still growing in the basement-hadnt watered it all summer! ;) I think they are pretty TOUGH!

I have mine in pots growing under low light in the basement and some in the upstairs growing the same way. This is how I did it last year and they did well. Just remember, they don't put out a lot of growth during the short days with low light, so don't overwater them. Hope they do well for you. Ears have become another addiction of mine, darn it.

Any of you know how hardy the black ones are?

Black Magic is supposed to be hardy to 7B.

Spring Hill, FL(Zone 9a)

I planted a black EE in the spring (March '03) so we'll see how well it takes the SW FL mini-winter. Sure did well with all the summer rain!

Hummn, OK, they'll be in the basement. Should I put em under extra light or just by the window. Water how often?

And the nanas? Never water, keep cool? No light?

I just hate CRC ):

I only water my ears when they start looking dry. My ears...well that is a different story. I had one last year that didn't live over. This year my ears are in the garage and so far are looking okay with minimal water and minimal light. Probably around 60 degrees.
