Clearwing moth on senecio confusus in Cuba

Can anyone identify the moth please?

It looks like it might be in the family Sesiidae, which is a family of moths that mimics wasps and the common name is clearwing moths. It's not the two moths pictured in my ID book, so I don't know exactly what it is.

Beautiful picture! It looks like the scarlet bodied wasp moth http://www.wmnh.com/wmiab02.htm This same one was posted on the photo forum a couple of weeks ago.

Well spotted poppysue, I think you have hit the nail on the head! The wing veining is right and so is the coloration and I guess what slight differences there are in the amount of hair on the thorax etc. are due to normal variations and life experiences.
