I was just out taking pictures and found these poor buds not that far away from bloom! All L'Amour!!!
So do you think the bud drop is due to the colder weather or from the rain all night, not that it was strong enough to knock them off. But maybe they do not like all the water? Maybe I should move this plant to the open porch where no rain would get to it?????
right now it is:
Temperature 46 °F / 8 °C
Windchill 44 °F / 6 °C
Humidity 93%
Dew Point 45 °F / 7 °C
Wind ENE at 5 mph / 8.0 km/h
Wind Gust -
Pressure 30.06 in / 1017 hPa (Steady)
Conditions Mostly Cloudy
Visibility 10 miles / 16 kilometers
Clouds
(Above Ground Level) (FEW) : 2000 ft / 611 m
Mostly Cloudy (BKN) : 20000 ft / 6098
Woe is me!!!
I hope a few stayed on? Wouldn't you know.....the one you really, really wanted?
Didn't you last premature buds go ahead and get fluffy pollen? I guess that doesn't mean it is good, but what a shame to toss it in the garbage when it might do something for you. I hope you have a lot of buds left on the plant. Some of mine did that after we had a really cool night. Creamsickle was the worst.
Thankfully I still have tons left on the plant, or at least I did last night! I really want to see if L'Amour is light in the winter also. 2 were just open last night.
No, last time Brugie the bloom had fully opened but the pollen was just not ready. This pollen would be from a fully immature bloom.
Guess you better just hope the rest stay on the plant and open for you. Too bad. I always hate to see buds drop.
Jeanne is right kell!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh by the sound of your voices I think I have been very negligent! But......... I need to move it into my dining room and I am afraid it will drop all its leaves in there. Now it is so green and so healthy looking. And I do not even know if I can move it without destroying it. It has grown about 4 feet out to the one side. To move it will be hard with out knocking it all over.
Funny, this AM I went out back and my huge Rosamond that stands well over 12 feet dropped tons of leaves and buds last night. They are all over.
So what temp does L'Amour like? Even my versicolors are looking good, bloomless as usual, but still looking good outside. Those will go to my hoophouse.

L'Amour. The holes are from the hail we had a few weeks ago.
Would you look a the size of those leaves. Oh, to have plants like that!
Kell, I understand your questions as to moving a brug inside. I moved a large, probably 7 gal. pot of CG with lots of buds, and about 3 feet x 3 feet into the moring room. It has light coming from south but not direct sun. Dropped all of its many buds and leaves in a week. Moved 3 others in smaller pots into the GH, they still look good. Must be the low humidity in the house??? Good Luck with your moves of brugs where ever they go. Donna
