oysters...freeze 'em?

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Guess what folks!?

I really look forward to fresh oysters in the shell each yr. I eats 'em raw sometimes (with a dash of hot sauce), I fry 'em up or I make oyster stew!

However, sometimes when I get a whole case it's just too many (I know I know, "how can you have too many?"). Anyway, a friend told me that you can always freeze fresh oysters, after you shell them of course. I didn't know that. Does anyone out there do such a thing? (My friend said she thought "you put so many in a baggy, however many you want, freeze them...then when you need X number for a stew just pull out the baggy or baggies".)

Lemme know soon please. They're on sale now!
