An absolutely beautiful morning glory and what a super photo! Thanks for sharing it.

Can you please tell me why these are called white edge? This looks like Star of Yelta or Grampa Otts.

El Sobrante, CA(Zone 9b)

I didn't write the PDB description, but this is President Tyler - it is very similar to G Ott and Star of Yelta - blooms are larger.

Ok, I was just wondering I thought that it might have been a mistake, thanks :)

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

It was a mistake. The common name was changed in the PDB entry. Beautiful photo, BP!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

So then what is it really?

El Sobrante, CA(Zone 9b)

The photo is of President Tyler - a cultivar of morning glory (Ipomoea Purpurea). The description on the plants database was/is incorrect.

How much bigger are the flowers compared to Grandpa Otts & Star of Yelta? GREAT picture! Is it growing in a pot?

El Sobrante, CA(Zone 9b)

I grew all three last year for the first time - in pots, yes. These blooms were a little bigger than Grandpa Otts - but container growing effects flower size anyway.

The subtle differences between these three varieties, if they exist, are lost on me - but I'm not the most critical eye either.

Here's a picture of 5 mgs ... the 3 in front are President Tyler and the 2 in back are Grandpa Otts.
