Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

Some late evenings and early mornings in the barn for me. The electric light in the barn was sure a big help this morning.
I came home last evening to one of my young wild goats having just had kids on the floor of the messy barn. It was cold and I wanted to warm the babies up pretty quick. She was upset with the move, I was afraid she wouldn't want her babies back if I handled them so much. She didn't want to go into my neat pen with clean bedding and how could she resist the treats in there? Finally got her in there, tried to leave her and babies to bond some. Checked them again before bed, decided to lower the heat lamp. Steam rolled off the one larger kid. Babies were fluffy and having breakfast this morning.
An early morning check revealed my black ewe with her head stuck tight in the sheep and goat paneling at such an angle I couldn't get her loose by herself. She had stuck her head through two panels sideways. Good thing Hubby doesn't have a bad back. He picked her up and had her out in nothing flat.
ok, off to the salt mine.. Mentally I will be having another cup of coffee leaning over my goat pen watching babies. In reality I will be inside all day. Oh well. That's my life.
Have a great day!
