Today my mother was bedridden and has to be fed because her hands shake too much.She feels a bit better as far as pain in her stomach..but time grows short..my sister is a wreck even though we have been ready for this a long time. :-( More as it happens.
Kyle's Mom update
Kyle, I'm so sorry, and I hope your mom can spend her last days with little or no pain. Take care of yourself. If you need anything, you know how to reach any of us.

Kyle, I worked for hospice for 3 yrs. I'm not a nurse, I just did billing, QA, that sort of thing, but I know that the purpose of hospice is to keep the patient as pain free and comfortable as possible. Your mother couldn't be in better hands. You are doing the best you can do for her at this time, and know that they will do the best that is possible for her.

Kyle, I have had such sister when my father was very ill and passed. Don´t watch it.Be yourself and be with your Mom.
Nothing else is important.

My prayers are with you and family. I don't think anyone can completely prepare themselves for a loved ones passing. Just do the best you can and spend what time you can with her. Also please take care of yourself.
Kyle, you and your sister have to support each other When my Mom was dying, my sister and I supported each other. It will help both of you. When a beloved one is passing,no matter how sick he has been, nobody is really prepared for it. Because the hope dies always last.

That is such a good way to put it Monika, the "hope dies last". I didn't know how to word that when I first read this post.
Kyle, I pray that God will help you through this really hard time in your life. My prayers are for your mother and family too. Remember, God never leaves you nor forsakes you no matter what.

Today at 2:45pm central time my mother left us.I stopped at the hospice around lunch since my sister was ill and couldn't stop. She was very OUT of it then and while I was there she suffered a stroke...she died later peacefully My sister made it there in time to hold her hand as she left.
I won't be in much for a while so thanks everyone for the prayers and thoughts.
Kyle, now you know your mother is at peace in God's loving hands and will never suffer again. God bless you and your family.

Kyle, I am so glad to hear that your mother's suffering is over and she was able to die peacefully, surrounded by her children. Remember that her spirit and her love will always be with you.
