Hello everyone. I have a plumeria that I have had for 2 years. First yr it bloomed, 2nd no blooms. Had it in sun and it looked good no blooms. Is there anything I should do now that I have it in the house to make sure it blooms next year. Any help would really be appreciated. thanks Debk
Plumeria ?
Maybe it will bloom in the house. Mine did last year and then it didn't bloom in the garden. Go figure!!
I'm giving mine the basement light treatment,Good Luck Debby!!
Mine bloomed three years ago on the hot patio in a pot - hasn't bloomed since. I have it inside in my laundry room against a south-exposure window, and it's going dormant for the first times since I've had it. I wish I knew how to treat these beauties right - they take up too much room to not reward me with blooms.
Someone, maybe Dee or Roz, said that she takes her pulmeria out of the pots and hangs them in the ceiling of the garage over the winter and then plants them again in the spring.
i do that too brugie, i plant them in beds come springtime then in fall i dig them up remove the dirt, cut back any scraggly roots then put them in a no frost area. mine bloom a few times each season.
i do think they like the rest.
Deb, do you feed it? My SIL belongs to the Plumeria Society & swears it is a must for regular blooming to feed them. She says she thinks BR-61 is great for blooming!
I bought about 20 for less than a $ each & I bought some of this BR-61. So, we will see next yr if they don't freeze this winter!
:~)
i have 3 plumeria right now because in houston during the summer they're like 3 bucks at HD. but anyhow-- i let them go dormant also during the winter, in a dark closet, no water, no food, no light. bring htem out after the last frost and they wake up pretty fast. one of them bloomed last year while my grandparents were babysitting it for me(i was out of town all summer) but right now they're back in the closet! anyhow this is a really good link that ive read up a lot on-- hope it helps :)Susanne

Feed it a high phosphorus bloom booster.
Give it intense light and bottom heat.
This will increase the likelyhood of blooms in the coming season and now as well.
I have a plant that bloomed only 2x in 9 years.
I was instructed to do the same and now have 2 inflos on my baby!
She is 8 foot tall BTW. ;)
