I wanted the seedlings to bloom but....

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

it doesn't help me at all!! I will still have to regrow it next summer to get a true idea on how it looks. So far so good. This is the first day opened. It really looks like RK to me, or maybe Butterfly! I was hoping for a dark Butterfly.

This seedling formed a perfect canopy on its own. Multi branched.

each branch is covered in buds. It is the best seedling I have in form!

Do you think I should use RK on it or would I be better using L'Amour on it to try to bring out the dark color? Well I will do all of them, but I can only grow a few, so I wonder which I should pick to grow out. LOL. I am being optimistic here as this plant needs to be dug out soon and potted to go into the hoophouse!

Kell, she looks beautiful. Maybe it will be darker tomorrow, but in any case, it has great shape. I love it.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

It's a beauty Kell. For future reference, I love to grow out seeds if you want help with your crosses. I've just set up a second unit like this one to get me through the winter.

That is beautiful! Long tendrils! Hope it gets some good color.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Very nice set up Linda.
Kell.. go for RK, she is the mom of all pinks......

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

kell, I wouldnt use RK unless you want aurea types only.
Many of them dont flower very well unless you live in suitable climate with a long vegetation period.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Linda, nice set up. Was it purchased or homemade? Would love to have a couple just like yours.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

I have one just like it and love it! Brugie, if you have a Sam's there, I saw a rack like this for about 65.00. You just have to add the lights.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

You're off to a great start Kell. I love the whiskers and bloom shape.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Gosh Kell, that's a beautiful shape. Such long tendrils!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Ronna, we do have one about 60 miles from here.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Linda, I will have seeds. I just haven't gotten it together. I know I promised 2 people seeds on Daves. Were you one? One was Root's friend and I have his address and have not forgotten. I just like to keep things hanging over my head for a while worrying me down before I get it done and out of my life! Why I am this way I do not know! I love you light shelves. I need those! I only have so much window sill space.

Thanks all! I do like this one. i had an ugly white open also. So sad.

I got home to late to see it in the light, but I will go out soon to look to see if it turned red yet!

Thanks Monika, I may cross it with EP then also. My only pink I think that is not an aurea.

Kell, so very pretty. Good luck with your crossing. I sure hope to be able to try my hand at hybridizing brugs next summer. Donna

I got a set up like that at Sam's too. It is called a Gorilla Rack- around $60. Lights fit right in it - it holds tons of weight. Much sturdier than the plastic one I had.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

OH Kell! I love the tendrils! How did I miss this one? I need to stay here more than a few minutes I guess, I just keep missing things. I have a picutre for you to use as wallpaper for Christmas....Pink Poinsettia's will go get developed today and foward to you.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi Kell, I also really like the shape on this one. I also had another seedling open up yesterday and so far they have all been just plain white brugs.Nothing special looking about them, but yours has a wonderful shape to it.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Very pretty Kell ... nice shape and good long tendrils.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It really looks like BFand RK. Not red as of last night though lots more opened.

I will have to see what Susie says about it.

It is certainly worth working with, to try and get some nice coloring.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Remember that with short days and cool temps, it could show more color next year. It certainly does look like it's parents otherwise.

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Kell I think its pretty. I love the shape and the long tendrils.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Kell, I was not one that you promised seeds to. If you have any left over, lmk. My plant shelves was from Lowes, and is 72 x 48 x 19. With the shoplights and bulbs the set-up is just over $100, but I get that much entertainment from it over the winter. I have 2 units in my "sew/grow" room. It's really bright in there.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Brugie, somewhere on here someone built one with PVC that looked fantastic. Did you see that one?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Yes I did see that one, but I'm a bit on the lazy side and Jim is no help, so I just need to get a couple of them already to go. I think I can manage to get one put together with the instructions. I'm all thumbs sometimes though. LOL!! It would just be nice for small cuttings and seeds and anyone who has been to my house will tell you that I need plant shelving. Stuff on every window sill and table available makes it look like heck all the time.

heber springs, AR(Zone 7b)

WILL IT HARM BRUGS IF U LEAVE THE GROWING LIGHT ON 24/7?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm not sure about this question, but have always believed that we have night and day for a reason. Figured that everything, including plants need to rest a while each day.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Hi Kell...I sent you an email...you were very kind
to offer me some seeds awhile ago. Thank you so
very, very much!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Kell, its beautiful,I can't wait to see what it colors up as......
Ihughes ,I gota go to Sams and get one of those shelves,I saw them last week and my DH said"you can't use those for plants"

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

They will be in mail Monday Lilypon! So will your plant be CC.

I saw one like Linda's at Lowes yesterday. I was buying a big plastic one for the hoophouse.

Ok Linda I am going to get one. LOL. Do not tell Tom. My house is like Brugies, plants all over. So tell me how much do the lights cost and do you have to buy a special kind of bulbs?

Biel, Switzerland(Zone 7a)

Love those tendrils,Kell.Very nice!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks Gwist! How are your brugs doing? Any survive your boy?

Have you heard from Tonny lately? I heard his computer was down. Hope all is well.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

werewolf, I have my lights on a timer, 18 hrs on 6 hrs off. I plug the timer into the wall and a multi-strip outlet into the timer. Works great.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)
