I have two cuttings of dahlia tree that i will trade with one person for some color of calla lilly other than white.
Patricia
Have: Dahlia tree for trade
Hello do you have any seed for this you would trade a small amount of even 6 seeds???
Hi Markclay, No I don't have seeds, but if you would like
to have these, I will sent them to you for postage.
Nobody seems too interested in them. they are really pretty when they bloom and very easy to root. If you just verily cover them with soil in a pot and keep them moist but not real wet over the winter, they will come right up in the spring. So where you live, you would have to put them somewhere where they wouldn't get snow.
I'm interested,I just heard that they are difficult to get to bloom....especially up here......
I have no idea if they are hard to bloom where you live.
Mine bloomed in the Spring and are in bud right now, although we will probably get frost before they do open up.
Patricia, I would be interested in trading for a couple. Email me please. Thanks! (((((Patricia)))))
Kay, yours are on the way. If anyone else wants to try some of these, I still have some cuttings. E-mail me with your address.
Patricia
Jero---when you say dahlia tree are you talking about the DAHLIA IMPERIALIS? I have this and live in South La. Mine grew fast to be around 14 to 16ft. and finally this month got around to blooming. It had saucer size single lavender blooms. Pretty but not spectactular....the size of the plant is what makes it attractive. But you said something about cuttings....does this thing root at the joints with cuttings? If so I need to get busy. Also I wonder if it will come up from the roots next year after a freeze this winter? Thanks,
Pat, I received the cuttings. I'll have your postage in the mail tomorrow. Thanks so very much. Have you ever rooted these? Have any pointers as to the best way to root?
Patricia, mine has sprouted!!! I'm so happy, you just don't know. thanks again so much.
ada, I laid it down on a bed of soil and just barely sprinkled soil on top.
Thanks, Tig. I'll try that.
Do you have anymore? I have a Lamb's ear, that is pretty big. I do not know if you like those, but I love them. I brought some in that I didn't have a chance to plant before it got too cold. But, if you do please let me know!
Thanks, Traci
No Traci, I don't have anymore. I just moved from the house where they were growing and just had major surgery, so I won't be shipping anything else until next Fall probably.
Patricia
Patricia, hope you are feeling better.
Thanks weeds. I am feeling alot better since the surgery. I am still in a neck brace however. Our weather here in Calif. has been incredibly nice for Dec. and I want so bad to get out and plant. I can't even drive my car so I am really feeling stuck. But I am so thankful that I got a good doctor and am doing so well.
Patricia, I'm so glad you are doing well. I guess I didn't know you were having surgery or I would have put a thread up wishing you well. Take care of yourself. How do you like the new place? I'm sure I would be wanting to get out and work in the dirt too, but please take your time, get well first, the plants will all fall into place later.
Thanks for asking Shirley. I had to have a vertabae replaced in my neck. They only gave me one weeks notice before the surgery so you can imagine what it was like around here . We were just getting ready to move and moved three day's before the surgery. Besides trying to move I was running out shopping for the grandkids between trips between the houses. I am sure glad that part is done. But I am doing fantastic. It is absolutely incredible what they can do with surgery these day's. The pain is completely gone . I had the surgery on Friday, they sent me home on Sat. and I was up walking around and wrapping my gifts on Monday. The worse part for me has been that I can't drive myself anywhere and I can't do much bending over, so no gardening.
I love the new house and managed to get all the necessity's unpacked before the surgery and then my husband had his men come over from work and hang the pictures and even put up all my Christmas decorations for me. All my brug cuttings and 250 plus hoya's just got moved over from the other house. So this has been more of an inconvience than anything, and I am so excited and looking forward to Spring and getting to put in my new gardens with all my new brug cuttings that everyone so graciously sent me.
Thanks Patricia. You have been through a lot in a short time. I would be exhausted. Do take care and have a Very Merry Christmas.
Patricia, I'm sorry you've been through so much, but am thrilled you are doing well! just want you to know that I have 4 or 5 nice sprouts on my dahlia tree cuttings and can't wait to see them get big. Thank you again and again.
Patricia, hope you're doing much better now. I just wanted to let you know I have five sprouts since I tried rooting them like Tig advised me. Thanks so much.
Tig, thanks so much for your help.
I am so glad that they are doing well for you all. Next year I might have to ask for a cutting from a couple of you. I know I kept one for myself, but have no idea what I did with it. We were just getting to the point of hauling all the boxes over before the movers came for the furniture when I took these cuttings. It is no telling what I did with my cutting.
Patricia
oh no! well, I'm thinking mine need to get potted up soon, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for them, the pictures are wonderful. you know if I have it, it's yours.
Same here, Patricia.
If you need other things, just yell!
Thanks ladies, I am starting all over from scratch. It should be interesting.
Patricia
did you manage to keep your brugs?
Hi Tig, Yes, I have managed to keep my brugs. I think I lost one cutting that you sent, but all the others are doing well. I have them in the sectioned off garage area where I have heat and lights for my hoya collection.
