Brugmansia 'Loreley Chameleon'

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

From Logee's last spring.
Different coloration.
I like the patterning to the flower.

Alice, Loreley is a wonderful hybrid. But the name Chameleon was never valid. Frau Neu used to say that Loreley changes the color from White to Golden.....like a Chameleon! Take good care of it! Loreley has almost vanished out of european collections.

Monika, that is what it is doing. On the way from white to golden it is mottled all over.
Very neat!
And yes, I agree, wonderful.
I am really enjoying this one (o:

So I should just call it 'Loreley'?

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

It's beautiful Alice.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Loreley is the correct name. Loreley is the name of a maiden out of a well known legend about Germanys largest river, the Rhine.

Thanks Monika.
I will add to the PDB under 'Loreley'.

I will take good care of it ..promise (o:
And will share around when able.

It was small when I got and I was worried.
But have brought it to doing nicely now.

Pictured blooms were crossed to RK last night.
Wish me luck (o:

I thought I did buy it until my order arrived and it wasn't there. Oh well, maybe next year or maybe not at all. I'm doing my best to TRY to cut back a bit. Not working well. She is a beautiful brug Alice. I love the color on her. I hope she will do well for you in the future too.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Oh wow! Is she ever pretty! I love the name! :o)

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Hi Kell .... did you receive my email the other night?

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

It's gorgeous, Alice!

Shirley, I had ordered it too and when my order came there was a versi Alba instead. I wasn't sure if they didn't have it or if I just made a dumb mistake on my order form. They must have run out early on. I wonder if it's availible now?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Alice, you have the nicest brugs.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Abutilon, beautiful. Their catalog says it is intensly fragrant. Is it? even if not it is lovely. Donna

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It's a beautiful flower Alice.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

She is very pretty Alice. Good luck with the crosses.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Since it is soooo slow I'm going through old threads and looking at the really beautiful ones and this is just one of them.......How is it doing and has it bloomed for you more Abutilon?
So pretty and I hope we see lots more....did the cross take or do you know yet....?
Dee

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Very pretty, Alice. I have one but it's way too small to bloom yet. Can't wait to see mine bloom. Thanks for sharing.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Should I or shouldn't I go to Logee's web site??? I'm afraid of what I might come out of there with. LOL!! Loreley is so pretty and I was disappointed that I didn't get it last year so............maybe a quick trip won't hurt too bad.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

I guess the follow ups on this one got by me. Sorry )o;
I was surprised to see it here again today. lol
And will address now.

Dee, there is a pod. From memory, not sure which cross took.
I will be in the greenhouse today and check.

Lorely has bloomed several flushes since fall. It is blooming one right now (o:
But the winter flowers smaller and lighter than the fall blooms.

It does grow slow. But seems picking up speed as it matures.
And it needs a bigger pot. In my plans to do this week.

Loreley is lovely brugmansia. And, yes, good fragrance, also.

Shirley, I may be able to have you a cutting when I send your other brug.
In the bigger pot, it should grow faster.

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

I really don't know who to ask this question of so I guess your it.....
When you grow a brug from seeds when do you know if its a "Keeper" or not. What do you base your decision on. Flower, fragrance, heat tolerance.....etc. What all should you take into consideration? How do you decide?
Dee

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Alice, that would be great. Thanks so much.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Dee, the cross that took is to Butterfly.
And one open pollenated, too.
Two pods so far.

Ok Shirley. When the weather warms. Not tonight. lol
It is 20s )o:

WillowWasp ..will you post your question as a topic?
End of this one it is lost.
It would be nice to have everyone's input.
Thanks (o:

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Good luck with your pods, Alice. I ordered this one too last spring but they must have run out early. Your plant looks like it's quite small to be blooming. I love those long tendrils. The color looks a lot like the Ursuline seedlings that I have. I wonder who the parents are. It's very pretty!
