Thanks ya'll. I tell ya I am having so much fun making these things for ya'll. I am now addicted to beads!! LOL
So if any of ya'll that are thinkin of sending me seeds... feel free to send beads instead LOL The clearence racks are usually a good place to start finding them cheap! hint hint No really just kidding.

I did get more beads from Teresa today and I had such fun pouring them out and looking thru them one by one. Thinking O I can use this one with such and such and O I like this one...and this one and well you get the idea. I had a blast with the seeds Teresa Thanks!!

Hey no kidding here but if any of you happen to see any of the long(1") cilinder beads that are marked down, let me know and I'll send you the money for them. They are long skinny like little straws. Gold or silver is on my wish list for those. Or I'll make ya something for a trade LOL

Glad you all are enjoying the stuff I sent, just know it was made with love and friendship :)

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

Hi Molly, I got mine and posted a photo of it. I am really enjoying it. Thank you very much. I will get your seed out to you hopefully Monday.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

That's right busybee, I should have remembered that one :)
Glad you are still enjoying it too.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

hi molly,
sorry i didn't get back to you sooner, but my email has been out and i've been working on that. now is is all better. :)
i have the seeds set aside for you from my travels. you said you liked the red flowered plant. i'm going to be making a run to walmart and michaels soon, so i'll check and see if they have any beads on clearance for you.

i'll send you an e-mail about what i would like.

i'm glad you are enjoying your new craft. now your even making your own beads! have you used those really neat clay ones that have the patterns in them? do tell, i'd love to hear what you are making.

thanks debi z

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

debi_z Just let me know what you decide and I'll get it made up for ya.

I have been making the animal print beads lately and they seem to be turning out pretty good so far. you know like zebra print, tiger stripes, giraffe print and leapord print. These are turning out kinda good.
I've also been playing around with making things such as Santa Claus heads, Snowman head, and Reindeer heads. thinking of using them as necklaces or for tree ornaments.
Lots of beads made of swirls of different colrs together too(that is what the mess ups are good for lol)
I've just been doing so many different ones its hard to explain them all.
Maybe when I finish one that I am very happy with I can post a pic for ya'll.

Gilmer, TX

Yes, more pics Molly. Have you thought about a Christmas glasses leash? I have two pair of Christmas glasses, one is snowmen and the other is just black frames with red and green swirls. Perhaps I can come up with seeds or bulbs to trade. I also paint other things besides the gourds too.

Molly,

Do you remember this? :)

http://davesgarden.com/t/406693/

I am already collecting beads for you. I bought three small packages off of ebay. They were so gorgeous. :) Now I just need to hit the craft stores.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Pam, ya know I have been thinking about a Christmas leash.
Thought of maybe putting something on the ends of it like a santa face or snowmans head so that it would hang on the side of the leash. Hmmm didn't realize how hard that would be to explain LOL But like just making the leash the exact same way with the sliding end beads(that hold the glasses) and then say about 3 or 4 beads up from there I'd put a santa face ?? Still not exactly sure how that will turn out. But yes I have been making ones that are green red gold and silver all on one, and they look real Christmasy(is that a word?) I'll try and get one made up and post a pic of it for you to look at.

I'm soo sorry Carla, I should have remembered that thread. I guess I actually did, but I wanted to post everyones name here so that I could keep better records of who got what and who sent what. Know what I mean?
Thanks sweetie!

Gilmer, TX

They both sound great Molly, I have this thread on my watch list and will be looking for the pictures. How do you feel about a painted flower pot? Pam

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

As many of the other traders here can tell ya, I'm very easy to please. I'm up for anything no matter what it is, I'm game for trade :)
Sound great!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

:) You are all welcome.

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

If you don't mind primitive, I can make some beads for you. One of the off-the-wall things I do is to make things out of clay from our yard and then fire it in the charcoal grill or fireplace. These pots show what colors I end up with (pinkish, grey/brown, and black). Beads would probably be between the size of a pea and a cranberry. I'll try to make some soon, and if they don't turn out ugly, I'll send them to you.

O Kelli, Those look great! You are very talented. I'd love to have some of your hand made beads! That would be wonderful.
Hee hee getting excited here

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

Those are great Kelli,
Molly, the tallow seed are on the way. I think you have to bleach them first, but they are supposed to have a place on them to run the thread through.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

O goodie!! I can't wait to try them. Thanks Busybee :)

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Just giving you a status report - I haven't made any beads yet but I haven't forgotten. This is a busy time of year, as I'm sure you know. We're having company for Thanksgiving, so I have to get the house looking halfway decent, then there's the yard work that never ends, my full-time job, getting ready for Christmas, etc... I hope to have some time over Thanksgiving vacation to work on this. Once I have the clay prepared (dusty job that has to be done outside), I can make the beads indoors while we're watching basketball.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the update Kelli.

Just let me know later.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

warm holiday cheer to you.

Mollybee, refresh my memory on this. I came across this thread & it intrigued me. What type of beaded jewelry do you make? I make jewelry out of buttons!!!!

Franklin, LA(Zone 9b)

Kelli
when you say "clay from our yard" do you mean like.. literally dug up out of the yard?
like... your soil is clay?
and if so..
what do you do to it to make it useable? lol
Kim

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

All sorts of things now :) I've since started making Dream Catchers too! Those are fun! I have them in my store here at DG.
The necklaces and braclets are mostly done out of glass beads. I've been trying to get pics of some but just can't make the pics come out clear enough for some reason.
I'll keep trying, and I'll post it here :)
I have tons and tons of them made up now, just to get pics!

Thanks for asking :)

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Kim, yes, the clay is dug up from my yard. The soil is clayey, with chunks of pure clay in it. It is the pure clay that I use. When the clay is dry, I pulverize it. (I pound and rub it with a smooth stone on the sidewalk - very primitive, but effective.) Then I wet the clay with water and knead it until it is a decent consistancy. The clay is not "plastic" enough to make anything very fine or detailed, but it's kind of fun to mess around with.

Mollybee, you've probably figured out by now that I have never gotten around to making the beads. Every weekend is dedicated to yard work.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

:) Kelli not to worry, you can send them anytime :)
