A few days ago, I took the film out of the Olympus camera to have the pictures developed in the photo shop.
The picture, shown here was made in June 2003 and it shows Rubirosas first flush of flowers. Rubirosa is one of several Trees in my allee.
Then I bought a digital camera and forgot almost all about having still a film in the Olympus.
Even though, the first flush has always a fewer flowers as the following flushes, this picture gives you an idea, how close the flowers are together. It gives you the feeling to stand under a colorful umbrella.
Rubirosa again
That sure is one beautiful plant Monika. A great picture as well. Kristi
Monika, I didn't know you bought a digital camera. Good for you! Gosh, that plant is gorgeous. You can hardly see the leaves.
Oh my goodness! She's beautiful.
she's quite the beauty monika, I can't imagine standing under her.
I just love it!
great pic, Monika. i've been wondering about the flower closeness, and am thicking of shovel pruning my pink beauty/rosamond, as the flowers seem to be so spread out and the tree is.....awkward looking.
SO much pink!! LOL
Beautiful!!
Rubirosa is still my favorite. She's perfect.
That is one gorgeous brug.
That is one gorgeous angel trumpet. It's too pretty to call a brug. lol
Gorgeous!!!
This brug is Beautiful, all your brugs are beautiful, you are truley blessed! Cathy
Thank you all for your nice comments.
Wow that is an incredible looking brug. A real beauty
wow---what a vivid color? nice shot too
I believe that if I had my choice of brugs, double or single, I would take Rubirosa over any of them. Just a beautiful brug that anyone would be proud to have in their collection.
Absolutely stunning Monika!
I wish I could order some of your beauties.
Some day it might be possible!
If we prune our brugs back to the 6 nodes will they come back and flower in a compact form like that?
I have some that are really sprawling and I clipped them back to 6 nodes above the Y,will they send out new shoots from the nodes or will it force growth from other parts of the stem?
And if I prune them will they come back and flower in that color and shape?(just kidding,I can dream can't I?)
It seems like they just keep getting better and better. I just wish we had access to them here in the U.S.
crestedchick, Rubirosa flowers like a versicolor. All buds grow to the same size and open almost all at once. It looks like, they even wait for each other. The flush lasts almost three weeks, buds continue to come and open. The next flush forms after three weeks and has even many more flowers. It depends on the hybrid, if she will flower like Rubirosa. CG for instance comes close to it, I have seen pictures of Pristine flowering in that manner.
Monika, You are truly gifted..what a beauty she is !
Thanks for sharing the pic with us.
MsCritterkeeper
I love the way Versi-colors do that, they just explode with blooms. Monika I love this hybrid, would love to see a picture of it in full bloom now that it has grown, did I miss that one?
I do have pictures, I have to check my file and post it.
You brought it to the point, when you said, that they just explode.
This picture was made in July. There was no chance to photograph any flower during the day because of the heat.
They all wilted during the day.
You probably know, that Europe had the hottest summer since records kept.
The flashlight makes the color appear pale. But it is seen, that the top of the tree has become larger.
The complete top cannot be seen because the distance for the flash light was to big.
there just isn't words to describe how gorgeous this brugmansia is. I am just at a loss for words.
Fantastic! The most beautiful brug of them all. Hope someday we can have it in our gardens.
I will do my best!
Wow this one is loaded.
Loaded with pink! LOL
Monika, just beautiful. Thanks for sharing such a lovely flower with us. I would imagine a brug allee would be absolutly wonderful. I planted a crabapple allee 6 years ago, using Prairie Fire Malus, it is pretty most of the year. Donna
Gosh, Im looking up Monika's beauties... and I had to bump this! I love it! So... beautiful!
I drool everytime I see this or any of Monika's beauties!!!
Monika, as you know this is one of my favorites. How is she blooming this July. I know your weather has been different than last summer and that it has been cooler.
The Tree had a few flowers Nanny. He is setting on buds now while the Rubirosa shrub in my backyard has more buds.
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Just loaded..
It is one of the most beautiful flowers..... :)
