never say die

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Even though we had some patchy frost a couple of weeks ago, most things are still surviving. My brugmansia in town is still going at it and has a lot of buds on it. I am enjoying this, but I'm beginning to finally believe that we do indeed have global warming and it's not just a cycle.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Our weather has been very strange the last few years too... and not always for the better! I keep hoping it will push our zone down a couple notches - lol!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Poppy, why would you want to go down a couple of notches?
I keep hoping my zone will go up a couple. LOL
It never got above 32º yesterday here.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

LOl-- yes... that's what I ment. I guess I was thinking I want it to push me down south! It's been cold here too.... Wet and drizzly. I have a zillion things to do outside but I won't drag my butt out in this miserable weather.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Miserable here too. Been raining for several days now. I'm sticking next to the woodstove.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Poor things. It is 77 deg. here right now with a high of 85 deg. predicted. The only bad thing about our weather is that it will stay like this and then all of a sudden it might dip down into the 30's. The past 2 years we have hardly had a freeze at all, and then the first week in March when our Mountain Laurel and Bradford Pear are covered in buds, it has dipped below 30 deg. and killed all the buds.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Figures, usually happens to us in the spring also, lose buds on peach trees, etc. It has been in low 80's here for 3 days, now Saturday to be 18. How about that? I'm NOT ready!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

18, brrrrr, too cold. It is supposed to be cooler here also, with a high of 65 by Friday. Haven't heard the lows, but certainly nowhere near that.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Now that my brugs are tucked away for the winter, I would just love to see winter come and LEAVE early. It is too cold out to do anything and the rains have left it very nasty out there. No sun for days now. So, come on old man winter and let's get this overwith so I can get to the greenhouse and plant spring flowers.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee Brugie that was a short rest! I remember just the other day when you were ready for a good rest after all your hard work and never wanted to see a hose again!!

Woodspirit, I hope you have luck for awhile longer and get to keep your plants frost free!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You are right Kell, I don't want to drag the hose around, but from planting time in the greenhouse until hose time gives me a couple of good months to just enjoy.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You work harder than anyone else I know Brugie, enjoy some time off before it is time to get the seeds going.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

No kidding Kell! You shoulda seen all the cuttings she sent out! Man! LOL that is one part I am NOT looking forward to! :o)

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

We had several days of rain, too and now we are supposed to get cold, but I don't know if it will be a killing frost. Generally, it has been a beautiful autumn following a rainy summer so I guess I should be thankful........
