I can't belive I still have one around here. Doesn't it look so lonely?
Lonesome hummer
Zowie! You must have a nice new camera or sumpin'!
How close were you to get that shot?
That po' youngin' is up there scouting around for South America, ready to head home for a vacation in the south!
He/She will be back next yr! You'll see!
Morganne swore she saw one the other day and I didn't believe her. Uh oh!
You are getting mighty good with that new camera!!
Shoe I was about 12 feet away. I couldn't believe it when I saw it buzzing around the yard. Thanks Chele I am having fun playing with it. Still haven't got it all figured out.
Mystic,
Where about is Ewing Ky. I am new to this forum. And yes the bird looks lovely. Up here in Michigan we don't see them after Sept.
Ewing KY is far far over the rainbow, ♫♫ where blue birds fly!...♫♫ (er, sumpin' like that!)
Welcome to DG Sandy! And welcome to this forum also!
And now...we await Mystic to answer your question. (Wonder if she knows!?) ;>)
Hi Sandy welcome.I live in NE Ky. Ewing is about 60 miles from Lexington, most people have heard of Lexington so it's a good one to give directions from.
I think you better open your greenhouse door. I think he wants to stay for the winter LOL BEAUTIFUL picture!
Thanks for the welcome,
Mystic when do you normally see your last hummer? Do you know what kind it is? If you are using a feeder you can bring in it at night. I miss them so.
Sandy they are usually gone by October. I guess the warm temps we where having got him confused.
Peggy, what camera did you get? We usually see our hummers off by mid-September or so. There are still some around central Ohio, though...And they're rufous ones, to boot! http://www.newarkadvocate.com/news/stories/20031117/localnews/659598.html
GW I got an Olympus 740. I really like it. Wow you have rufous ones there maybe some will find there way to Ky.
