Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

My mother has gotten worse with her cancers so we have to admit her to the local hospice on Tuesday.I will have my hands full of paperwork..stress..packing her things to go with her...MORE STRESS...and so on....so I probably won't be online a whole lot for a while. Life sucks when your health fails. :-(

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I am sorry to hear the sad news. I have to say that all the experiences I have had with Hospice people and their care has been wonderful. They know what to do and they are dedicated to making people comfortable and with dignity.
I have always said "your health is your wealth." when I hear people complaining about things that are really petty and insignificant in the scheme of life. I understand your stress and that you are really going through a tough time right now. I will pray for strength for you and comfort for your mom.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

I too am very sorry that your Mother's health is failing. My prayers are with you. Take care. Donna

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks everyone..tonight will be her last night at home...she was hoping to die at home..but that just isn't an option with me working and her alone during the day.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Oh Kyle, God bless you. I pray that you & your mother will be comforted and embraced by the Lord our God in his loving arms.

You must be exhausted with worry and I know what you must be going through, as my father had cancer too. He had the wonderful Hospice foundation to help him through tough times. They helped the family go through all phases, and made it easier for "us" the family but more importantly they made my father feel comforted in knowing that God will be there waiting for him.

I am so sorry about your mother, but I know that what awaits her in Heaven, it is much more than here on this earth. I made every day count. Say to your beloved mother the things that you want to always remember. Her response will be something you will always treasure for the days ahead.

Out of five children, I was the one that didnt have one thing in common with him...but it was my wish in the end that I could make memories that I had missed out on. I will always cherish those memories.

Sorry this is so long. I just felt so much empathy reading your post.

God Bless you and yours

Julieanne

Kyle,
Very sorry to hear about your mom.Just remember though that I as well as the rest of your big Dave's G family is thinking of and praying for you, your mother and the entire family.
I work with a hospice lady. She works in the restaraunt with us on weekends and is one of the friendliest and nicest people I know. If all of them are like her, your mother will be very well taken care of.

May God bless and help you all through this time of need.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Kyle ,I know this must be one of the hardest things you've had to do or go thru. This must be so stressful for you both ,and my prayers are with you and your Mom....

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

From what I have heard, Hospice is wonderful, not only for the patient, but they are there for the family afterwards. I have heard that our local Hospice people keep in touch, and most attend the funerals, because it gets to be like family for them too, since they have helped them through what is probably the most difficult time of caring for their loved one. You and your mom will be in our prayers. We are all here for you.

St. Louis, MO(Zone 6b)

Kyle, you and you mother are in God's arms. Rest there and take comfort in His love as it flows through all your friends to strengthen both of you. (((((Kyle))))) Padre

I know this was and is the hardest time I had in my entire life so I can empathize with you. If only we could turn back time. I will keep your family in my thoughts as you say goodbye.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Well we got her settled in this afdternoon..not really sure if she feels good about it yet...but she knows I can't care for her all the time and keep the bills paid. They are sooooo nice at Hospice..God should have angels like these people.

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

My thoughts are with you Kyle, I have been there.

I don't usually post info about this cause I hate to bring up stuff that isn't brug related or isn't just casual chit-chat, but since the subject has already come up, here goes..

If my time and effort with this website ever has or will save one life, it is worth it. Please if you are over 40 get a colonoscopy. Most docs recommend waiting until 50, but my husband died at 50, so he had to have developed his problem years earlier.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Kyle, she is in good hands. We had wonderful experience with Hospice when my sister was ill. They will be very comforting not only to your mom... but to you and the family members too. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mary, Rodney was your husband? So sad.

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

Yes, he was my husband, my very best friend, and my true soulmate - a loss I will never completely get over.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I am so happy to hear, that your Mom is in good hands.
You both are in our thoughts. You must be strong now.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Understand, Mary. You have to go on with life anyway, know it is hard.
