I have a question I hope someone can answer. I have an Ipomoea Carnea (pink morning glory bush) that blooms a light lavender pink color. I've seen post on here about blue ones and pale pink ones. Are they all the same, and different people see the color differently, or are there really these other colors as well. If there are, and anyone has them, I would love to have a cutting.

Here is your answer and thank you for the seeds:

Sylvia, I had one this last summer and the summer before. Held them over from cuttings. Boy, not something I really liked. Didn't get bloom until way late last summer and this summer the buds were just forming when we got our first frost. Needless to say, after two years of not having a "real" bush with lots of blooms, I didn't keep a cutting. Mine was always 6 ft or more tall, but just one straight stem and it didn't bush at all. Glad it's gone. Hope yours is a beauty. Wish I had your climate.

Even here in GA they are very late summer to start blooming..We had frost tonight so I'm sure the blooms will be gone tomorrow, lol..It had several on it.. I have been very disappointed in the plant.. For me, it also grows only straight up on the one stem, 5-6 feet,(has to be staked) it never spreads out.. I don't know why they call it a bush, lol.. It just grows long and tall, but the blooms are pretty..

Mine usually has at least 4 branches on it and starts blooming by June. I wouldn't really call it a bush though, because it grows to about 7 or 8 ft. and has a rather loose form. Planted along a fence it is really pretty, because it almost looks like a tree. The flowers are beautiful. I wonder why yours start blooming so late? Mine always blooms for at least 6 months out of the year.
Minigrannie,
What month did you start them? Brugie, when you first started from seed, how early did you start them?
May have to take them to CA for a longer growing period.
I probably started mine about this time of the year. They came up quickly, but didn't gain much after they got to about a foot tall. They are also a spider mite magnet, so if you start them inside, watch them closely. I had two in the house and one croaked before summer. The one I held over last year was from a cutting. I wonder if they need to be pruned a few times to make them bush....
