How's everyone doing?
On a positive note about eating a very ROUTINE breakfast and lunch - I splurged again last night during a dinner with work colleagues. Not outrageous, but not what I would eat on an ordinary diet day. BUT, I was able to jump back in the same routine today because I have essentially programmed myself to eat the same lunch every day. Chef salad and turkey/tuna/chicken salad. I accidentally skipped breakfast because we didn't have eggs, but I wasn't overly hungry because of the full meal last night.
Maybe not entirely exciting, but I have enough of a habit that I can "get back on the wagon" by going on auto-pilot. Having these two healty salads prevents me from hitting the snack machines if I'm hungry. I can always grab one of the salads before any carb or sugar cravings hit me. I am trying to make these meals more for the sake of nutrients than what tastes best, although I am developing a real taste for these salads. I also like to think they give me a "mindset".
Interestingly enough - I did have one small leftover snickers bar from Halloween last night (I forgot to move them to the car) - and it almost tasted "too sweet".
So, I feel like I have "recovery" down, (how to get back to eating right again) and I have my on-diet eating that is rather disciplined. Now, it's time for the weight to start coming off! Too bad there isn't a tribal rain dance for weight loss! ;-)
