Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning. Yes, you read that right, we have an inch of snow! This is the earliest snowfall I can remember, it might be shaping up to be one of those hard winters. We could use a heavy snow winter about now. The ground is very dry and almost impossible to get a shovel into. We haven't had more than an inch of rain total since June. Last evening I took a picture of the greenhouse in the snow but the yard light must emit green light rays so everything looked an eerie green.
The horses were very glad to see me with the hay cart this morning. They get fed twice a day and they sure do know when feeding time is. Well, I think really feeding time is any time they want more hay. Bullwinkle was reaching over the fence and picking off the dry flower stems on the daylilies while watching the house for me to come and bring him hay. He is ugly and cute at the same time. He is the best house watcher we have.
Have a great day, count your blessings.
