I have one too and it didn't bloom until two weeks ago, it Y'ed months ago. One flush and that was it, it doesn't seem to like heat at all. I'm going to dig mine up and see what it does next year, if it wasn't for the pretty leaves I would never keep it.
Do either of you have cuttings to trade? I have the green-leafed, but I love the varigateds.
