Passiflora

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I posted this in the tropicals....loosing my mind
http://davesgarden.com/t/406867/

also my Foetida alba that I got from Sue had lots of fruit on it and they have all stayed green but have fallen to the floor of the GH

My main question is ......What do I do now......if the seeds are in a dry state ,like the rubra do they need to be dried further or will they need to be planted quickly,or soaked in citrus juice?

The Foetida that I opened has black seeds, covered in jelly.Do I dry them, plant them wet like they are or soak them?

What if I want to trade some of them?

I dont do the weird juice mixes and what have you. I nick the end of my seeds with a finger nail clipper, just slightly to assist water to penetrate the seed. I soak the seeds in water for 3 days. I then place them in a sweater box with a lid (in my soil) and keep them in the sun here in FL in the normal seasons or when it gets cold like now, place that same box on a heating pad during the night to keep the temp up and back out in the sun during the day. I have raised thousands of passiflora this way. it works well!

Thousands? Wow, what do you do with all of them? Thanks for the information. I've never had good luck with seeds, but never nicked them either.

I am going to try this method. Somethings gotta work better than the soaking in OJ or passion juice. The fruit flies and ants like the stuff to much. I end up throwing it out cause it STINKS..........LOL
