What color blooms does this plant have? I love the color of the fruit. Did you see the photo of the manzanita tree blooms I posted? I was wondering if you have them growing near you. They are supposed to be found native to 2 areas of West Texas and up through Utah, but my brother said he saw one in Blanco on his deer lease this weekend. When I have time, I'll have to go up there and check it out. The San Antonio Botanical Garden has one growing there.

Hi Hazel -- it has yellow blooms. I started a cutting (hopefully) to plant in my cactus garden. Yes, I saw your posting of the manzanita. I am not familiar with the plant though. Love te phot of the butterfly rose! Hope you have a great day! Gretchen

Gretchen, the Tasajillo I bet is really pretty in bloom. Are the blooms on the tips of the stems only or do they cover the whole stems? Its form is very pleasing. Glad you enjoyed the butterfly rose photo.

Hi Hazel -- I believe the blooms are in the same places as where the fruit is in my picture. I've never seen one in bloom, but hope to in the Spring. Gretchen

Gretchen, that would stand to reason ... I should have reasoned that the blooms would have been where the fruit is presently. Duh...
