cooking with gas

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

I finally after 3 weeks of waiting for them to deliver it, got my propane tank for the gh yesterday.

How does everyone else heat? I did the electric thing last winter. NEVER AGAIN!!! All of my money went to the electric company!!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

That is what I meant to do, I was going to take a winterhouse shot again, for this year! I will do it tomorrow, it is dark, and I have big furry things running around out there (oppossums). I use electric here but I have a insulated barn type building with windows.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I used electric last winter, starting the first of February. I had just lined my greenhouse with the big Greenhouse Bubble Insulation and it really did help. Even down to almost zero degrees I could keep it at a little over 50 degrees with two small electric heaters.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I am so glad that you finally got your propane tank. I am like Brugie, I used an electric heater in mine. I don't have to run it too many nights and really did not notice much change in bill. I know . . electricity and water do not go together. When I water, I unplug the heater or fan, whichever I am using at the time. I bet with the bubble wrap, I really would not have to turn it on hardly at all except the few nights it freezes.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm not sure you could justify the cost of the bubble wrap tho, Frannie. I think it was about $90 for enough to cover 360 sq. ft. I had some left over, but that was the only way it could be purchased.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I use propane and I love it,there was 2 months that the bill got real high but for the most part it was pretty cheap considering I'm trying to keep a plastic room warm (at 50-55 F) when its - 28 F outside
