Help ID Brug.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I have one that the flowers start out yellow and when fully open they are pink. It did very well for me this year. One other thing is I would like to try and keep it until next spring and want to know how if any way there is to do this. Do I cut it back, water no water. One of you experts help me a little please. I know there are several of you out there.

HoniBee, you do not need to cut it back. It all depends on the space, you have for it during the winter. All what brugmansias needs is a frost free room. Some species need it a bit warmer during the winter, above 12°C (sorry, I dont know the F). You have to water but only when needed and then only a little bit.

Thanks so much Monika.

Hi HoniBee! Might I add, if you have to cut it back, try not ot cut below where the branches "Y", as that is where the flowering wood is. John

Honibee, there are several pinks that fit that description, it would be impossible to say what it truly is without a picture and even then it still might be impossible. There are so many different pinks now that look similar and many are misnamed when sold or traded.
Even if it doesn't have a name it will still give the same enjoyment in your garden.
A basement that doesn't freeze or an extra room in the house you can turn the heat down in would be a perfect place to use Monika's method.

I only cut back rarely, store in basement.. Plants inside in room/no heat/lot of windows, bloom for me during the winter. I probably have close to same weather/temps as you.
