Wow! I love it & I think Ginger could be my nest obsession.
Lisa, am I correct that ginger does well in shade?

Bambi, it does well for me in any conditions..I have some in full sun, but the ones in filtered /shade/sun are doing best. They are nice this year, I've got some blooming right now, they are pretty.

Lisa, what do the blooms look like on those?

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Weeds, this is the bloom of another costus, the flowers look almost the same. I'll take a picture later on today for you.

Gorgeous! How tall do those get?

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

...over here?...pretty big! Mine is about 4 or 5 feet tall. I can leave mine in the ground, they are hardy to zone 9.

Thanks, yep, over there. The new zone thing says I am in zone 9a but I don't think anything has changed here weatherwise for me to be in 9....we will see. All my gingers come back each year too.
